Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in hotel or related field
  • knowledge of cooking techniques including charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sautéing, braising, roasting and par-cooking
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • ability to minimize waste and maximize cost efficiency
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • experience in fine dining helpful
  • culinary arts degree or certificate helpful
  • knowledge of cooking techniques
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and organizational standards
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and procedures

Job Duties

  • prepare all food items based on standardized recipes
  • maintain cleanliness, sanitation and safety in the kitchen and work areas
  • minimize waste and maximize cost to production ratio
  • have thorough knowledge of menus and preparation required
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas
  • complete necessary food and station preparation prior to restaurant opening
  • prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards
  • utilize cooking techniques including charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sautéing, braising, roasting and par-cooking
  • approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy and meat products
  • prepare food for banquets and employee cafeteria following specifications
