Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior cooking experience preferred
  • certification in food handling required within 30 days of hire
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • strong attention to detail and sanitation practices
  • capability to perform physical tasks involved in kitchen work

Job Qualifications

  • Certified in ANSI Accredited Food Handler Training within 30 days
  • experience in cooking
  • knowledge of food preparation and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and departmental procedures
  • basic understanding of kitchen equipment usage and maintenance

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares foods in accordance with standardized recipes and departmental procedures
  • maintains utensils, equipment and work areas in a clean and sanitary condition
  • serves foods on patient tray assembly area as needed
  • follows detailed daily sanitation and position cleaning assignments
  • ensures food is prepared according to menu and production sheets assigned by supervisor
  • labels all food products according to local health department code
  • portions and prepares food prior to service
