Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a restaurant environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for long periods, bending and twisting
- Ability to work safely around hot equipment and sharp utensils
- Willingness to comply with company policies including drug-free workplace rules
Job Qualifications
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum of 1 year cooking experience, preferably in a high volume casual dining environment
- Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fryer, and pantry cooking
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
- Comfortable conversing with customers
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
- Ability to work safely with knives, utensils, and hot equipment
- Ability to work in hot kitchen environments
Job Duties
- Prepare food items according to recipes and product directions such as soups, meats, vegetables, desserts
- Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation and comply with HACCP standards
- Operate kitchen equipment, measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel and cut fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
- Communicate ticket times and potential problems to management and servers
