Job Requirements

  • Working towards or completed high school diploma or GED
  • three months experience cooking for a group planning meals and purchasing food and kitchen supplies
  • ability to be a team player
  • ability to be dependable reliable and on-time for work
  • ability to demonstrate accountability for actions and responsibilities
  • ability to demonstrate professional maturity
  • ability to lift and transport heavy kitchenware
  • ability to navigate changing circumstances priorities and approaches
  • ability to take proper safety precautions to prevent accidents including use of all required safety equipment and following all safety regulations policies procedures and reporting requirements
  • ability to work with a positive attitude
  • skill as an effective communicator
  • valid driver’s license and ability to maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • have and maintain acceptable background information including criminal conviction history

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepares three meals a day during weekdays for a crew of up to ten
  • plans menus and prepares a food list for weekly supply pick-up
  • purchases food and kitchen supplies
  • monitors and tracks food and kitchen supply expenditures
  • cleans kitchen and dining area including washing dishes pots and pans mopping floors and wiping tables
  • performs related duties as required to meet the needs of the city
  • knows and complies with all city and department policies and participates in professional trainings and development
