Job Requirements
- Working towards or completed high school diploma or GED
- three months experience cooking for a group planning meals and purchasing food and kitchen supplies
- ability to be a team player
- ability to be dependable reliable and on-time for work
- ability to demonstrate accountability for actions and responsibilities
- ability to demonstrate professional maturity
- ability to lift and transport heavy kitchenware
- ability to navigate changing circumstances priorities and approaches
- ability to take proper safety precautions to prevent accidents including use of all required safety equipment and following all safety regulations policies procedures and reporting requirements
- ability to work with a positive attitude
- skill as an effective communicator
- valid driver’s license and ability to maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record
- have and maintain acceptable background information including criminal conviction history

Job Duties
- Prepares three meals a day during weekdays for a crew of up to ten
- plans menus and prepares a food list for weekly supply pick-up
- purchases food and kitchen supplies
- monitors and tracks food and kitchen supply expenditures
- cleans kitchen and dining area including washing dishes pots and pans mopping floors and wiping tables
- performs related duties as required to meet the needs of the city
- knows and complies with all city and department policies and participates in professional trainings and development
