Job Requirements

  • One (1) year of food service experience
  • adherence to all state and federal food safety regulations
  • ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen tasks
  • capacity to follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols
  • ability to work flexible shifts
  • willingness to learn and adapt to therapeutic diet requirements
  • ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED preferred
  • cooking experience preferred
  • combination of education and experience considered
  • proven experience in high-volume food preparation
  • strong understanding of food safety and therapeutic diets
  • commitment to culinary excellence
  • ability to follow detailed recipes and protocols
  • knowledge of food preparation equipment and safety standards
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements
  • uses required kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills
  • modifies preparations to account for food allergies
  • follows healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, guidelines and procedures including monitoring and maintaining food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage processes
  • avoids cross-contamination of foods and adheres to personal hygiene requirements
  • maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery
  • performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
