Job Requirements

6 months healthcare or restaurant facility experience
Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
knowledge of basic math skills
willingness to work in a fast paced environment
flexibility and adaptability to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment
food handler certification within 30 days of hire for some locations

Job Qualifications

high school diploma or GED
culinary degree
2 years of experience as a cook in a healthcare facility
knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation
good basic math skills
ability to follow instructions accurately
flexibility to work in a dynamic environment
certification such as Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or FSSC certification preferred

Job Duties

prepare and present high quality food within specified time frame for patient and retail services
properly follow safe food handling procedures
take customer's orders and prepare the order according to recipe
accommodate additional customer specifications or dietary needs
work efficiently in a fast paced environment
adapt easily to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment
maintain cleanliness and organization of food preparation area
