Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years formal culinary training program

Job Qualifications

  • food service background in upscale restaurants, private clubs, or hotels preferred

  • ability to comply with dietary and safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Prepare all soups, stocks, and sauces
  • boil, braise, and roast items per standardized recipes
  • prepare and serve sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed, pureed, and baked items
  • complete paperwork and clean equipment
  • assist with kitchen sanitation
  • maintain hot food line and service to residents
  • ensure proper food temperatures, portion sizes, and presentation
  • communicate entrées
  • respond respectfully to customers and staff
  • prepare salads, desserts, and baked goods
  • follow food production schedules
  • comply with sanitation standards and OBRA guidelines
  • monitor, teach, redirect, and discipline staff
  • participate in pre-service meetings and meal planning
  • comply with dietary restrictions per physician orders
  • follow safety protocols including HACCP and MSDS
  • maintain workstation cleanliness
  • adhere to personal hygiene and dress code
  • attend training sessions
  • perform additional duties assigned by supervisor
  • identify and address safety hazards
  • maintain resident confidentiality
  • support facility’s values and policies
