Job Requirements
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in Food Service Administration or Culinary Arts or a closely related field
- Six months of paid full-time or part-time experience in preparation and cooking of a complete menu for a restaurant, hotel, or institution other than short order or fast food
- Or two years of relevant paid full-time or part-time experience
- Or an equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits above
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Food Service Administration or Culinary Arts or a closely related field
- Six months of paid full-time or part-time experience in preparation and cooking of large-scale menus
- Two years of relevant paid full-time or part-time experience considered equivalent
- Ability to work under supervision and manage food service staff
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary requirements
Job Duties
- Prepare hot and cold food items according to established menus or specific diets
- Plan menus and complete food requisitions
- Maintain inventory records and manage kitchen supplies
- Work under the supervision of Lead Cook, Supervising Cook, or Food Service Manager
- Exercise direct supervision over Assistant Cooks and other food service employees as necessary
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Perform related duties as assigned
