Job Requirements

  • One year experience as a cook in a large restaurant, hotel, or healthcare facility
  • Ability to prepare and coordinate food orders according to standardized recipes
  • Knowledge of food and food products
  • Ability to perform food plating and garnish preparation
  • Skill in quality food production including tray-line, cafeteria, grill, or catering
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen area
  • Knowledge of health department codes and sanitation policies
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Ability to work various hours and locations
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for long periods
  • Subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience as a cook in a large restaurant, hotel, or healthcare facility
  • Knowledge of food products and preparation techniques
  • Ability to perform plating and garnish preparation
  • Skill in quality food production across various stations including tray-line, cafeteria, grill, and catering
  • Customer service skills
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Food Handler's Card or certification preferred
  • Proficient knife skills and ability to work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Prepare hot and cold menu items according to departmental recipes and quality standards
  • Perform meat fabrication, fish cutting, and sauce making
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of cooking stations and equipment
  • Ensure portion control and proper plate presentation for all dishes
  • Adhere to health department codes and kitchen policies
  • Assist in closing the kitchen and follow closing checklists
  • Attend employee meetings and contribute suggestions for improvement
