- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Job Duties
- review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared
- follow standardized recipes in preparation of all foods
- plan cooking schedule with supervisor and/or executive chef to ensure food is ready on time
- confer with supervisor and/or executive chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
- adhere to all applicable guidelines for storage, handling, preparation of food, and sanitation of work area
- use critical thinking skills and exercise judgment with minimal supervision
- work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action
