Job Requirements

  • Six months experience in healthcare or restaurant facility
  • Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or within one year of hire
  • Ability to follow safe food handling procedures
  • Basic math skills
  • Willingness and capability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment

Job Qualifications

  • Six months experience in healthcare or restaurant facility
  • Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or equivalent obtained within one year of hire
  • Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire for certain locations
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Two years experience as a cook in a healthcare facility preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and present high quality food within specified time frames for patient and retail services
  • Follow safe food handling procedures rigorously
  • Take customer orders and prepare meals according to recipes with attention to special dietary needs
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in food preparation areas
  • Manage multiple orders efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Adapt flexibly to changes in schedule, work assignments, and work environment
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
