Job Requirements
- Six months experience in healthcare or restaurant facility
- Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or within one year of hire
- Ability to follow safe food handling procedures
- Basic math skills
- Willingness and capability to work in a fast paced environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment
Job Qualifications
- Six months experience in healthcare or restaurant facility
- Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or equivalent obtained within one year of hire
- Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire for certain locations
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or GED
- Culinary degree preferred
- Two years experience as a cook in a healthcare facility preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and present high quality food within specified time frames for patient and retail services
- Follow safe food handling procedures rigorously
- Take customer orders and prepare meals according to recipes with attention to special dietary needs
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in food preparation areas
- Manage multiple orders efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Adapt flexibly to changes in schedule, work assignments, and work environment
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
