Job Requirements
- Six months experience in healthcare or restaurant facility
- Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or within one year of hire
- Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire at certain locations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Culinary degree preferred
- Two years of experience as a cook in a healthcare facility preferred
- Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or obtain within one year of hire
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes in schedule and work assignments
Job Duties
- Prepare and present high quality food within specified time frame for patient and retail services
- Follow safe food handling procedures
- Take customer orders and prepare meals according to recipes and dietary needs
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and food preparation areas
- Monitor inventory and ensure food supplies are adequately stocked
- Adapt to changes in schedule and work assignments
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient nutrition requirements are met
