Job Requirements

  • Six months experience in healthcare or restaurant facility
  • Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or within one year of hire
  • Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire at certain locations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Two years of experience as a cook in a healthcare facility preferred
  • Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or obtain within one year of hire
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changes in schedule and work assignments

Job Duties

  • Prepare and present high quality food within specified time frame for patient and retail services
  • Follow safe food handling procedures
  • Take customer orders and prepare meals according to recipes and dietary needs
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Monitor inventory and ensure food supplies are adequately stocked
  • Adapt to changes in schedule and work assignments
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient nutrition requirements are met
