The Department of Health Services (DHS), Central Wisconsin Center (CWC), is currently seeking a dedicated full-time Cook to join their team. CWC is a specialized facility providing both short-term and long-term residential services aimed at supporting individuals living with intellectual disabilities. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work scheduled hours including weekends, holidays, early mornings, early evenings, and overtime
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to push 100 lb. food carts
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, kneel, stoop, stand, sit, and work on feet for extended periods
- Willingness to undergo background check
- Must complete TB test prior to start date
- Eligibility to work in the United States and complete I-9 form
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work scheduled hours including weekends, holidays, early mornings, early evenings, and overtime
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Accept work assignment changes as needed
- Knowledge of basic sanitation, hand washing, and safety standards in a food service environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
Job Duties
- Prepare fresh, frozen, and dry food items according to requirements and standards
- Modify food items as needed
- Identify and distribute food items efficiently
- Store food items properly to maintain quality and safety
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in food preparation areas
- Assist in additional areas as necessary
- Comply with health and safety regulations during food preparation
