Job Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class B gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Washington State Health Card (Food Worker Card)
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for entire shift
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous kitchen or cooking experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Exceptional guest service skills required
  • Proficiency with classically taught knife skills (julienne, chiffonade, brunoise, batonnet, etc.)
  • Butchery skills preferred but not required
  • Familiar with modern cooking techniques (sous vide, combi oven operation, hydrocolloids, etc.)
  • Comfortable with constructive criticism and willing to learn and grow
  • Must be customer service oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment dealing with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain professional, courteous, and effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and outside business contacts
  • Possess the ability to handle multiple prep or cooking tasks simultaneously in an efficient manner

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of eggs, meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, sauté, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment
  • Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • Know and comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and approved recipes
  • Know and comply consistently with all kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation while following all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines when preparing hot and cold foods
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up standards for all dishes
  • Assist in all areas of food preparation and production as needed throughout the casino
  • Assist with banquets and off-site events as needed
  • Open and close kitchen properly by following the established opening and closing checklists for kitchen stations
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
