Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-3 years related work experience
- Valid ServSafe or food handler certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols
- Ability to work beyond normal hours as required
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Strong communication skills
- High level of integrity and honesty.

Job Duties
- Prepares or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems
- Determines amount and type of food and supplies required using production schedules
- Ensures availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
- Sets steam table
- Serves or ensures proper serving of food for tray line or dining
- Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health regulations
- Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques
- Stores food properly and safely, marking date and time
- Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor
- Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours to maintain excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food
- Apportions food for service
- Maintains daily production records
- Keeps work area neat and clean at all times including dishwashing
- Cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation
- Completes food temperature checks before serving
- Completes requirements for in-service training, attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene
- Supports the mission, values, and vision of California Fish Grill
- Supports and implements safety, fire safety, disaster plans, risk management, and security protocols
- Maintains confidentiality of all data
- Ensures quality assurance and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Promotes a work environment free from illegal and discriminatory practices
- Cooperates and works together with co-workers
- Uses appropriate communication in sensitive situations
- Follows up on complaints, problems and feedback
- Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests
- Performs other duties as assigned.
