Job Requirements
- At least six months prior experience in a food service department preferred
- Supervisory experience desirable
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
- Must demonstrate ability to work responsibly as a team member and individual
- Must be honest, fair, dependable, and respect confidentiality
- Must communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the public
- Must meet all health requirements
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must have ServSafe Manager Certification as applicable
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Minimum six months prior experience in a food service department preferred
- Supervisory experience desirable
- Strong knowledge of resident dietary needs and special diets
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and vendors
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Honest, dependable, and respectful of confidentiality and privacy
- Must meet all health requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
Job Duties
- Prepare meals for regular and special diets as per daily and weekly menus
- Follow guidelines for special diets and special event menus
- Oversee each meal and provide direction as needed
- Maintain sanitary conditions to ensure high-quality meal preparation
- Communicate closely with nursing and dietary management regarding dietary needs
- Monitor food storage practices including temperature control of refrigerators and freezers
- Clean and sanitize work areas and kitchen equipment according to approved procedures
