Job Requirements
- Completion of high school or equivalent education
- two years of quantity cooking experience including one year equivalent to Cook E6
- no felony convictions as per Public Act 191 of 2017
- ability to pass a thorough criminal history background check
- compliance with ethical standards and reporting conflict of interest
- eligibility to work in a correctional facility environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two years of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation
- at least one year experience equivalent to Cook E6
- ability to lead and supervise others
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- capability to follow standardized recipes and processes
Job Duties
- Oversee prisoner workers in meal preparation and service
- ensure adherence to MDOC standardized recipes, menus, and processes
- prepare high-quality meals for prisoners and staff
- maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
- monitor inventory and ordering of kitchen supplies
- train and guide prisoner workers
- complete required reports and documentation
