Job Requirements

  • ability to read write and speak English
  • ability to understand oral and written instructions
  • ability to do simple arithmetic
  • one year experience in food production and cooking
  • experience including culinary school acceptable
  • experience in hospitals and multi-site facilities preferred

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduate or equivalent
  • vocational or on-the-job training in cooking
  • knowledge of quantity and batch cooking methods
  • experience in food production and cooking in demanding schedules
  • cooking experience in hospitals and multi-site facilities preferred
  • computer knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office and inventory systems preferred

Job Duties

  • perform quantity and batch cooking to prepare food to order
  • comply with University Health and department policies
  • ensure proper care and use of foods supplies and equipment
  • adhere to safety hygiene and sanitation regulations
  • maintain good guest and working relations
  • assure competent efficient and timely performance of duties and assignments
  • meet established daily deadlines with accuracy and quality
