Job Requirements

  • Equivalent to 2 to 3 years experience in food service
  • certified as Food Safety Manager by National Registry of Food Safety Professionals
  • complete understanding of HACCP food safety
  • ability to work variable shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • capability to work per diem as required
  • no supervisory responsibilities
  • no driving required
  • commitment to uphold corporate values and success factors

Job Qualifications

  • Certified as Food Safety Manager by National Registry of Food Safety Professionals
  • complete understanding of HACCP food safety protocols
  • knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
  • 2 to 3 years experience in food service
  • ability to maintain high standards of food quality and safety
  • good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Consistently apply corporate values of respect, honesty, and fairness
  • review menus and work orders to determine food preparation needs
  • plan cooking schedule to ensure timely readiness and high nutritional quality
  • estimate food quantities and control portions to minimize waste
  • confer with Food Service Supervisor regarding modified diets and leftover use
  • procure food from storage areas
  • trim and cut meat and poultry
  • prepare or supervise washing, trimming, cooking, and seasoning of food
  • measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • observe and taste food to improve flavor and texture
  • adjust heat controls on cooking equipment
  • prepare cold meats, sandwiches, snacks, and beverages
  • inspect meat and other food in storage
  • recommend menu changes as needed
