Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- knowledge of dietary procedures
- at least one-year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or another related medical facility
- ability to follow health and safety protocols
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- good communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepare food in quantities according to the menu, recipe, and number of persons to be served
- comply with state, federal, and all other applicable health care, safety, and sanitation standards
- monitor and record temperatures in refrigerators and freezers
- inspect special dietary restrictions of residents to assure that the correct diet is served to residents
- process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services
- ensure that food and supplies for meals are readily available
- assist in inventorying and storing incoming food, supplies, etc. as necessary
