Job Requirements
- Wisconsin Department of Health Food Certification
- ability to maintain sanitary kitchen environment
- proper food handling skills
- basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work effectively as part of a team
- willingness to perform additional duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Certified by the Wisconsin Department of Health in Food Management
- experience in food preparation and menu planning
- knowledge of sanitary practices and health department regulations
- ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff
- skill in dietary budgeting and staying within budget
- experience working in senior living or healthcare food services preferred
- flexibility to adapt to resident needs and special dietary requirements
Job Duties
- Prepare monthly menu
- assist house manager with food orders
- organize, clean, and maintain sanitary conditions in the kitchen
- prepare three daily meals as well as snacks for residents
- maintain knowledge of residents' special dietary needs or likes/dislikes
- instruct care givers on proper sanitary regulations
- instruct care givers on setting tables, serving residents, clearing dishes, loading and running dishwasher
- stay within set budget on all food orders and purchases
- meet with residents periodically to assess food preferences
- prepare and track guest meals
- communicate detailed instructions to staff for evening and weekend meals and baking
- interact with residents and observe food and liquid intake
- work with house manager on food preparation/service for special events
- maintain confidentiality of residents personal and medical information
