Job Requirements
- Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred but not required
- ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- must be able to pass a background check and be at least 18 years of age
- must have criminal record clearance
Job Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of food safety and handling practices
- experience in cooking and meal preparation preferably in a restaurant or catering setting
- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- strong communication and teamwork abilities
- knowledge of culinary techniques and flavor profiles
- previous experience as a cook in an institutional setting
- high school diploma preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards
- assist with meal preparation for catering events and special occasions
- ensure food safety and sanitation practices are followed at all times
- maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations and timely service
- assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- responsible for set-up of carts to be delivered to resident dining areas if applicable
- display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families and visitors
- provide support to community’s marketing efforts through positive friendly interaction during all property tours and telephone contact with the public as directed by a supervisor
- communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition to a supervisor immediately
- maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests, following established safety standards
