Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous culinary experience
- ServSafe certification required
- knowledge of dietary regulations for seniors
- ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen
- physical ability to stand for extended periods
- able to lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to work in a hot and humid environment
- strong attention to detail
- excellent communication skills
Job Qualifications

- knowledge of health and safety rules in food preparation
- knowledge of cooking times and temperatures in accordance with state guidelines
- knowledge of various cuts of meat and seasonings
- demonstrated ability in a wide range of food preparation skills
- experience working with seniors and their dietary needs
- ability to read, write, and speak English
Job Duties
- Prepares food items on Food and Beverage Director's daily menu for residents within scheduled time frame
- keeps food service areas clean
- monitors inventory
- supervises servers in the absence of the Food and Beverage Director
- maintains clean, neat, and safe work environment
- demonstrates knowledge of kitchen equipment including ovens, slicers, mixers, steam tables, steamers, toasters, coffee pots, refrigerators, and freezers
- assures that resident diets are being followed
