Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- Manual dexterity and good auditory and visual skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
Job Qualifications

- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating kitchen equipment
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality and rotating stock
- Monitor, cook and prepare foods to determine if sufficiently cooked using tasting, smelling or food thermometers
- Prepare food stations as directed according to company guidelines
- Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes with supervisor guidance
- Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables for preparation
- Carve, trim and prepare meats and seafood for service
- May bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries
- Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
- Maintain records of food usage and assist with inventory
- Follow food specification amounts provided by supervisor and assist in forecasting preparation needs
- Prepare and serve food to customers timely
- Support culinary staff at various stations as directed
- Communicate with supervisor regarding kitchen equipment and supply needs
- Adhere to and promote company safety, food handling, sanitation, and uniform standards
- Provide excellent customer service including greeting and thanking customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
