Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous cooking experience in a senior living or healthcare setting preferred
- knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle kitchen equipment safely
- strong teamwork and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- previous experience in senior living preferred
- experience with production methods, portion control and food handling safety required
- great organizational skills a must
- strong communication skills
- attention to detail and presentation of food product is required
- must be able to work weekends
Job Duties
- prepare hot and cold menu items which requires working on the grill, sauté station, salad-bar and on the service line
- ensure the proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and the standardized recipes
- taste and prepare food to determine quality and palatability
- maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations
- adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- assist with inventory and stock management
- collaborate with kitchen staff to meet dietary restrictions and resident preferences
