Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 months cooking experience at a full service restaurant or hotel
  • Food safety certification
  • Ability to work overtime or irregular hours
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and over 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature and noisy environments

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Open up each morning preparing and organizing the station and cooking all food necessary to start serving
  • Prepare all items for lunch including sauces, soups, and buffet entrees
  • Switch over from breakfast to lunch at the assigned time
  • Rearrange the line and steam table to facilitate luncheon cooking and service
  • Prepare all orders as turned in by wait staff ensuring orders are cooked quickly and leave kitchen in peak condition
  • Learn menus, recipes, preparation, and presentation
  • Ensure food is stored in proper containers and at proper temperatures
  • Cook only sufficient food in advance to meet expected business volume
  • Prepare food needed by other kitchen departments and for next shifts as directed
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work areas in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
