Job Requirements

  • Must have five years experience in an institutional food service environment or comparable experience in related food service
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical recipe conversions
  • Willingness to work an 8-hour day shift from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm every other weekend and holiday
  • Ability to maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
  • Ability to follow HACCP procedures
  • Must report to work in proper uniform
  • No driving required

Job Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of simple mathematical recipe conversions
  • Five years experience in an institutional food service environment or comparable related food service experience
  • Ability to supervise dietary aides or volunteers
  • Strong understanding of food safety procedures such as HACCP
  • Good communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items including soups, hot entrees, baked items, cold foods, garde manger work and support work according to standardized recipes and production schedules
  • Report to work in proper uniform
  • Follow all accepted HACCP procedures and maintain a clean, sanitary workstation
  • Work in other areas of the department as assigned
  • Produce and deliver all foods to service areas in a timely manner
  • Check all foods daily to assure wholesomeness
  • Assist in maintaining inventory control by notifying chef of low or missing stocked items
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of all refrigerators and freezers
  • Maintain a pleasant manner with all customers, internal and external
