Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Professional cook experience in a fast-paced kitchen
  • First Aid, CPR, AED certification required on first day
  • ServSafe Manager certification required upon hire
  • Valid motor vehicle license

Job Duties

  • Clean, cut, prepare, and cook meat, fish, or poultry to a safe temperature
  • Prepare and cook various items according to menus and special dietary or nutritional requirements
  • Bake breads, rolls, and pastries
  • Apportion and serve food to patients
  • Wash cooking equipment such as pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other pieces
  • Develop, compile, and maintain food records regarding use and expenditures
  • Inventory supplies and equipment
  • Determine, or assist in determining, meals and menus
  • Ensure the cleanliness and functional operation of equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas by routinely cleaning and inspecting each piece
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Maintain proper chain of command
  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings and in-service training
  • Maintain a high level of flexibility with the daily flow of work tasks
  • Complete all other duties as directed by leadership
