Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a cook, preferably in healthcare or assisted living
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for up to eight hours
- Ability to lift and carry at least 30 pounds
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Physical capability to work in kitchen environment with exposure to heat and sharp utensils
Job Qualifications

- Culinary certification or relevant vocational training is a plus
- Previous experience as a cook, preferably in healthcare or assisted living setting
- Strong culinary skills with focus on food preparation and presentation

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
- Ensure meals are presented attractively and meet quality standards
- Assist in planning weekly menus that cater to residents' dietary needs and preferences
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures including proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner, addressing their meal preferences and dietary concerns
- Monitor food inventory levels, manage ordering of supplies, and ensure freshness of ingredients
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues to the Food Services Manager
- Work effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth meal service operations
- Complete and maintain documentation such as food temperature logs and cleaning schedules
