Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months previous food service experience
  • Ability to comply with food safety standards
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Physical ability to perform kitchen tasks
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Six months previous food service experience
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
  • Six months professional training at a culinary school preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and batch cooking preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare, season and cook foods for patients, staff and visitors
  • Determine food waste to prevent overproduction
  • Comply with safe food practices based on departmental policies and licensing standards
  • Follow established food preparation and safety guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
  • Assist in inventory and supply management
  • Support dietary requirements for therapeutic diets and batch cooking as needed
