Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • one year experience demonstrating ability to cook a variety of foods in quantity with knowledge of seasoning and cooking time
  • one year experience demonstrating knowledge of care and use of cooking utensils and equipment
  • ability to lift up to 75 pounds (may ask for assistance) and move 3 to 4 feet
  • ability to stand for extended periods and bend, stoop, and reach frequently

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year experience in cooking a variety of foods in quantity with knowledge of seasoning and cooking time
  • one year experience with care and use of cooking utensils and equipment
  • ability to lift up to seventy-five pounds and move three to four feet
  • ability to stand for extended periods and bend, stoop, and reach frequently

Job Duties

  • Work with coworkers in team environment that promotes positive service qualities and respect of residents
  • review production information with staff daily
  • ensure correct quantities of production and portioning
  • monitor and record production and waste data in absence of Executive Chef
  • prepare all food items in accordance with departmental standards
  • ensure food retains nutritional value, attractive appearance, and palatability and is served at appropriate temperature
  • follow proper guidelines to meet special dietary needs
  • maintain overall cleanliness of kitchen including washing dishes, cleaning floors and counters, disinfecting necessary areas
  • maintain cleanliness of dining room including changing tablecloths and vacuuming
  • ensure staff adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
  • guide and instruct other staff to ensure smooth completion of assignments
  • plan work schedule so food is prepared timely
  • serve as designated person in charge in absence of manager
  • assist in serving and delivery of meals
  • prepare and serve special events and catering
  • assist in ordering and receiving food ensuring proper storage
  • assist in training and orientation of new employees
  • attend staff meetings, projects, special events, and mandatory training
  • complete competency evaluations as required
  • follow all applicable state regulations
  • perform other duties as directed
