Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk continually throughout entire shift
  • ability to lift, carry, and stack items up to 50 lbs
  • ability to bend, stoop, and reach while carrying items up to 50 lbs
  • exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold in kitchen environment
  • manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform related tasks
  • must not be eligible for telework or flexible schedule

Job Duties

  • Operate in the kitchen and/or back of the house to prepare food safely and effectively
  • parboil food, reduce sauces, and begin first steps in various dishes
  • ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and complete
  • follow recipes by measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
  • bake, grill, steam, boil, fry, and chop meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables, and grains
  • present and garnish final dishes for visual appeal
  • maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • contribute to stocking, ordering, and purchasing ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste
  • communicate kitchen equipment or supply issues to the Head Sushi Chef
  • handle and store varied ingredient types appropriately
  • maintain food safety and sanitation standards and adhere to nutrition and sanitary regulations
  • complete all prep list tasks according to company standards
  • label, date, and stock ingredients properly
  • wash, chop, and sort ingredients like fruits and vegetables, ensuring quality
  • wash dishes, utensils, and cookware
  • take out trash and sanitize the kitchen
  • operate the fryer following safety and sanitation procedures
  • assist serving staff and other kitchen staff as needed
  • clean outside kitchen areas such as the dining room
  • perform other duties as assigned
