Job Requirements
- Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and agitated residents
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
Job Qualifications
- Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED
- Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment and maintain compassion and dignity to residents
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Experience in food preparation and kitchen safety
- Knowledge of nutritional programs and dietary requirements
- Ability to follow federal, state, and local health regulations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information
Job Duties
- Ensure all menu items are prepared and served according to departmental policies and procedures
- Assure that the presentation of all menu items adhere to established standards
- Prepare meals on menus and based on nutritional programs and individual plans
- Ensure the quality of meals in regard to taste, presentation and dietary requirements established by the Dining Services Director
- Ensure quality and safety of food by performing standard and any additional sanitary measures including sweeping of the floors, cleaning of surfaces, as well as proper covering and storage of food items according to standards and procedures
- Work at efficient and consistent pace
- Ensure timely preparation of all meals
