Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in culinary field
- Physical ability to bend and reach
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40-50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work in hot/humid environments
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor under stress
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
Job Qualifications
- Serv Safe Certification
- Working knowledge of health and safety rules in food preparation
- Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures according to state guidelines
- Knowledge of various cuts of meat and seasonings
- Ability in a wide range of food preparation and skills
- Experience with seniors and their dietary needs
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
Job Duties
- Prepares food items on Food & Beverage Director's daily menu for Residents within scheduled timeframe
- Keeps food service areas clean
- Monitors inventory
- Supervises servers in the absence of the Food & Beverage Director
- Maintains clean, neat, and safe work environment
- Demonstrates knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Assures that Resident diets are being followed
