Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in culinary field
  • Physical ability to bend and reach
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40-50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work in hot/humid environments
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor under stress
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision

Job Qualifications

  • Serv Safe Certification
  • Working knowledge of health and safety rules in food preparation
  • Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures according to state guidelines
  • Knowledge of various cuts of meat and seasonings
  • Ability in a wide range of food preparation and skills
  • Experience with seniors and their dietary needs
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

Job Duties

  • Prepares food items on Food & Beverage Director's daily menu for Residents within scheduled timeframe
  • Keeps food service areas clean
  • Monitors inventory
  • Supervises servers in the absence of the Food & Beverage Director
  • Maintains clean, neat, and safe work environment
  • Demonstrates knowledge of kitchen equipment
  • Assures that Resident diets are being followed
