Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years experience as a cook in a skilled nursing or medical facility
  • preferred ServSafe certificate
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to follow detailed recipes and portion controls
  • strong organizational skills
  • excellent communication abilities
  • physical ability to stand, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 20lbs
  • exposure to hazardous materials in a medical setting
  • ability to handle kitchen equipment safely
  • maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • capacity to work under high-stress situations

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years experience as a cook in a skilled nursing care facility or other medical facility
  • ServSafe certificate preferred

Job Duties

  • Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
  • coordinate meal preparation schedules, including meal planning, ingredient preparation, cooking, and serving
  • monitor inventory levels of food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen equipment, and place orders as needed
  • follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines to meet dietary restrictions and preferences
  • ensure food is cooked, stored, and served at appropriate temperatures
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas
  • assist with menu planning and recipe development
  • collaborate with dietary staff to coordinate meal service and address resident concerns
  • adhere to facility policies and procedures related to food service operations
  • participate in training programs and educational opportunities
  • perform all other duties as requested by management
