Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- One year experience demonstrating the ability to cook a variety of foods in quantity with knowledge of seasoning and cooking times
- One year experience demonstrating knowledge of care and use of cooking utensils and equipment
- Ability to lift up to seventy-five pounds and move three to four feet
- Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, and reach

Job Duties
- Work with coworkers in a team environment that promotes positive service qualities and respect of residents
- Review production information with staff daily
- Ensure and monitor correct quantities of production and portioning
- monitor and record production and waste data in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Prepare all food items in accordance with departmental standards
- Ensure that food retains nutritional value, attractive appearance, and palatability and is served at the appropriate temperature
- Follow proper guidelines to meet special dietary needs
- Maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen including washing dishes, cleaning floors and counters, disinfecting necessary areas, and cleaning mats
- Maintain the cleanliness of the dining room including changing tablecloths and vacuuming after meals
- Ensure staff adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- Guide and instruct other staff members to ensure smooth completion of assignments
- Plan and organize work schedules for timely food preparation
- Serve as designated person in charge in absence of manager(s)
- Perform additional tasks directed by management including coverage for call-offs and monitoring employee breaks
- Assist in serving and delivery of meals when necessary
- Prepare and serve special events and catering
- Assist in ordering and receiving food and ensure proper storage
- Assist in training and orientation of new employees
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, projects, special events, committees, and mandatory training
- Complete competency evaluations as required by state or assigned by supervisors
- Follow all applicable state regulations
- Perform other duties as directed
