Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook in a fast-food or restaurant setting, preferably with Mexican cuisine
  • knowledge of traditional Mexican cooking methods and recipes
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
  • basic understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
  • ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • culinary training is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food items such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and restaurant specifications
  • ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including cooking stations and utensils
  • follow all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items
  • assist in the prep work, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces and salsas
  • monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies as needed
  • work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quick service
  • ensure the correct portioning of food to maintain consistency in taste and presentation
  • handle special dietary requests or modifications to dishes as per customer needs
  • clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, countertops, and workstations after each shift
  • adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while operating kitchen appliances
  • keep up to date with food trends and incorporate new ideas to improve menu offerings
