Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least one year of relevant cooking experience
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • prior cooking or kitchen experience in cafeteria or large volume production facility preferred
  • knowledge of safety procedures typical in food service environment
  • must be at least 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties and complete opening and closing checklists daily
  • set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • safely use a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
  • operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures
  • handle, store, label, and rotate all products properly in accordance with state laws
  • stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations
  • have clear understanding of menu items and be responsible for prepping ingredients
  • multitask effectively in a high-volume kitchen
  • tolerate hot and cold work conditions during food preparation
  • perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • perform other related duties as assigned
