Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • Minimum one year prior experience in food preparation in commercial, military, or institutional settings
  • Relevant technical training courses in food service preparation and cooking preferred
  • Prior cooking and correctional food service training preferred
  • Must be able to communicate production and service requirements clearly to all personnel

Job Duties

  • Prepare food according to the menu plan
  • Manage inventory by placing and receiving orders for food and supplies
  • Ensure food quality and schedule preparations
  • Guide and train employees including inmate/detainee food service workers
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety
  • Train inmate/detainee food service workers and inspect their work
