Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous kitchen or cook experience preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout shifts
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach while carrying items
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and steamy kitchen environments
  • Manual dexterity for cutting and chopping foods
  • Must not require telework or flexible schedule accommodations

Job Duties

  • Operate in the kitchen and/or back of the house ensuring food is prepared safely and effectively according to specifications
  • Parboil food, reduce sauces, and initiate first steps in various dishes
  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and complete
  • Follow recipes including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
  • Bake, grill, steam, boil, fry, and chop meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables, and grains
  • Present and garnish final dishes for visual appeal
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Contribute to stocking, ordering, and purchasing ingredients to minimize spoilage and waste
  • Communicate issues with kitchen equipment or supplies to the Head Sushi Chef
  • Handle and store ingredients properly
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Complete prep list tasks according to company standards
  • Label, date, and stock ingredients appropriately
  • Wash, chop, and sort fruits and vegetables
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware and maintain kitchen sanitation
  • Operate fryer with adherence to safety and sanitation procedures
