Job Duties

  • prepares food daily as outlined on the menus
  • alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs or improve recipes
  • ensures attractive presentation of food before serving
  • coordinates and participates in serving food
  • monitors portion control to meet residents requests and minimize waste
  • maintains an accurate record of chargeable meals and submits record monthly
  • assists with menu planning and reviews with Dietary Manager
  • identifies food and supplies needed and reports to Dietary Manager
  • prepares meats for storage and portion control upon delivery
  • ensures proper handling storage and labeling of delivered foods
  • maintains a clean orderly safe and sanitary kitchen environment
  • ensures compliance with all regulations
  • assists in training other kitchen staff
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • complies with all policies and procedures
