Job Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- selective service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959

Job Duties
- Independently prepares and cooks regular and therapeutic diet entrees and dessert items
- follows menus, production sheets, and recipes to prepare items in required quantities
- grills eggs, meat patties, pancakes, French toast, broils meats, makes cold sandwich fillings and assembles sandwiches
- uses various cooking methods including broiling, roasting, baking, frying, boiling, steaming, stewing, braising, and grilling
- slices meat items by hand to specific size or weight
- prepares fresh, canned, and frozen vegetables and baked items
- prepares and heats convenience items, pureed foods with adjusted consistency
- washes, peels, cuts fruits and vegetables, assembles salads and desserts
- plans cooking processes to produce meals on time and proper temperature coordinating multiple items
- makes various desserts like cobblers, brownies, cookies, pastries
- weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular and modified diets
- operates kitchen equipment following safety procedures
- follows sanitary food handling and cleaning procedures
- disassembles and reassembles equipment for cleaning
- cleans and sanitizes work areas and performs deep cleaning tasks
- operates industrial dish machine
- performs other related duties
