Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- one year cooking experience or food service certification
- ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
- knowledge of food storage and safety regulations
- capacity to supervise youth helpers
- good communication skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve food in accordance with established menu cycles
- collaborate and work in partnership with program staff
- order, shop and restock supplies as needed while staying within the budget
- maintain kitchen cleanliness and orderliness at all times
- ensure safe storage of all foods
- supervise youth assisting in meal preparation when appropriate
- maintain personal cleanliness and use of protective gear such as gloves and hairnets
- clean and sanitize workspace before and after food preparation activities
- communicate any food service issues or deviations from approved menus to the Program Director or designee
- ensure compliance with all city, state and federal health codes
- maintain knowledge and compliance with regulations related to food received from Food Bank or other restricted sources
- abide by CSI's programs, policies, and procedures
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
