Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred
  • knowledge of food safety regulations
  • ability to work flexible seasonal hours from April through September
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and portion controls

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
  • serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and visually appealing
  • tastes all prepared food items to guarantee quality
  • uses established ticket collection procedures during service
  • cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required
  • assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies
  • reports maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents immediately
  • attends in-service and safety meetings
  • maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
  • performs job safely while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • ensures proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures
  • adheres to HACCP standards
  • commits personally to safety for self and others
  • abides by company policies including use of cut gloves and slip-resistant shoes
