Job Requirements
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
- One year of related cooking or food service experience required
- Sanitation certification strongly desired, will be required and training provided upon hire
- Must be proficient in latest version of Microsoft Office products
- Must possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Must have ability to read and interpret recipes and special diet requests
- Must be familiar with use, cleaning and maintenance of food service equipment
- Must be able to work with dogs and interact courteously with blind and visually impaired students
- Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Must possess strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Must possess sound business judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Must have valid driver’s license with no restrictions and ability to travel
- Must be willing to perform general public relations duties on behalf of Leader Dog
- Must be able to establish and maintain professional, productive and courteous interactions with employees, volunteers, donors, clients and all constituents
- Ability to respond appropriately to feedback from supervisors
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepares the scheduled menu items for the shift including general client meals and special dietary plans
- Coordinates with the kitchen supervisor on special diet issues and maintains appropriate records
- Assists with supervision of the kitchen ensuring timely meal preparation and distribution, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Responsible for sanitation and quality control of food including proper temperature, handling and storage
- Provides service support such as assisting aides with meal service, putting away stock, dish washing
- Cross trained in Residence Services managing front desk operations for client assistance
- Performs additional duties as assigned
