Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • two years experience in managing or quantity food production in a commercial, military, or institutional setting
  • ability to communicate job requirements effectively
  • age twenty-one or older

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required
  • college credits or relevant technical training in food service preparation and cooking preferred
  • prior cooking and correctional food service training preferred
  • minimum two years prior experience in managing and/or quantity food production in commercial, military, or institutional setting or an equivalent combination of work experience and training
  • ability to communicate minimum production/service requirements to all personnel
  • must be at least twenty-one years of age or older

Job Duties

  • Prepare food according to the menu plan
  • manage inventory including placing and receiving food and supply orders
  • ensure food quality and schedule preparations
  • guide and train employees
  • maintain high standards of sanitation and safety
  • train inmate/detainee food service workers and inspect their work
