Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work
- minimum one year of cooking experience preferred
- ability to stand for long periods
- ability to lift and move heavy objects
- manual dexterity and coordination
- ability to tolerate temperature extremes and exposure to cleaning chemicals
- effective communication skills
- able to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- availability to work 32 hours per week
Job Qualifications
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
- one or more years of line cook experience preferred
- ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- knowledge of safe food handling techniques
- understands workflow, prioritization, and deadlines
- customer service skills preferred
- ability to prepare food according to modified diets preferred
- proficiency with commercial cooking equipment preferred
Job Duties
- Prepares and cooks food
- serves customers
- follows recipes and instructions in the preparation of food items
- prepares bulk food items and large-scale production
- completes assembly of specialty meals and catered items
- maintains organized and sanitary working environment
- interacts with customers in catering, retail, or patient care settings
- delivers patient meals
- cashier duties
- stocks supplies
- uses automatic and manual ware-washing machines
