Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work
  • minimum one year of cooking experience preferred
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • manual dexterity and coordination
  • ability to tolerate temperature extremes and exposure to cleaning chemicals
  • effective communication skills
  • able to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • availability to work 32 hours per week

Job Qualifications

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
  • one or more years of line cook experience preferred
  • ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • knowledge of safe food handling techniques
  • understands workflow, prioritization, and deadlines
  • customer service skills preferred
  • ability to prepare food according to modified diets preferred
  • proficiency with commercial cooking equipment preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks food
  • serves customers
  • follows recipes and instructions in the preparation of food items
  • prepares bulk food items and large-scale production
  • completes assembly of specialty meals and catered items
  • maintains organized and sanitary working environment
  • interacts with customers in catering, retail, or patient care settings
  • delivers patient meals
  • cashier duties
  • stocks supplies
  • uses automatic and manual ware-washing machines
