Job Duties

  • Prepares food daily as outlined on the menus
  • alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs or improve recipes
  • ensures attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving
  • coordinates and participates in serving food including monitoring portion control
  • maintains accurate records of chargeable meals
  • assists with menu planning and adjusts menus with Dietary Manager
  • assists in identifying food and supplies needed
  • prepares meats for storage and portion control
  • ensures proper handling, storage, and labeling of all foods
  • maintains clean, orderly, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • ensures compliance with all regulations
  • assists in training other kitchen staff
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • complies with all policies and procedures
