Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Knowledge and skill to prepare appetizing resident meals
  • Ability to work within established food budget
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • Ability to follow food safety guidelines
  • Ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Ability to assist with inventory and purchasing

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge and skill to prepare residence meals that are appetizing in appearance and taste and meet resident and organization expectations
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in food service or meal preparation preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepares resident meals in accordance with planned menus, established inventories and standard recipes
  • Assists in menu planning and food preparation for special events
  • Assists in quarterly inventories
  • Performs daily cleaning of assigned kitchen area
  • Follows guidelines as established by Serv-Safe for food preparation
  • Assists in creating new recipes
  • Ensures that food presentation is appetizing in appearance and taste
  • Ensures food is served hot
  • Maintains portion control within food service delivery to residents
