Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • three years of food production experience in hotel, restaurant, or high-end institutional setting
  • ability to adapt recipes for dietary restrictions
  • proficiency in measuring and scaling ingredients
  • strong time management skills
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • capability to stand, walk, reach, squat, bend, twist, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • willingness to work AM and PM shifts every other weekend and holiday
  • willingness to obtain ServSafe Food Handler certification within one year

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Reviews production sheets and recipes to ensure quality and quantity
  • prepares food according to established guidelines
  • maintains time and production records
  • measures and mixes ingredients per recipe
  • uses kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare various food items
  • bakes, roasts, broils and steams foods per recipes
  • carves and slices meats and cheeses
  • garnishes, displays and serves food according to standards
  • ensures proper storage and rotation of inventories
  • monitors food temperatures and follows safe food handling techniques
  • maintains temperature logs
  • monitors accurate portioning and promotes food waste control
  • prepares in small batches to control waste and cost
  • demonstrates knowledge of age-specific patient care in food preparation
